Jan Koch is the founder of KoBra Dataworks, where he puts supervised AI agents to work inside real German small and mid-sized businesses — not slideware, but agents that do the boring work that actually needs doing. He also publishes under the „AI Made Simple“ banner, running workshops and training on practical AI.
Before that he spent over a decade in the WordPress world. He built WP Mastery and ran the WP Agency Summit, which pulled agency owners together from all over the world, teaching people how to actually run a business around WordPress.
I met him at Motorworld in Cologne, together with Dennis Yu. He and Dennis go back years — Jan was one of the early voices who vouched for the Dollar-a-Day approach when most people still thought you needed a huge budget to matter online.
What stuck with me: he talks about AI agents the way a tradesman talks about tools — no reverence, no sales voice. What works stays; what does not goes. That was useful, because we work on the same problem from two sides. He automates a company from the inside. I make brands visible from the outside. The question underneath is the same: what does a human actually still need to do themselves?
